, Wednesday, April 01, 2009, 04:51Okay I was wonndering who might be interested in making ornament covers. I think I can make a pattern using the programs on the site no problem, but since I know them so well anyways, I wanted to know who else would like them. Please just let me know. If anyone does I will start working on the simplest and most adaptable pattern I have! It is a lot of fun to me though people tell me I must have great patience (I don't, just a love of what I am doing)

That would be wonderful! Your ornaments are so pretty. My favourite ornament on your site is #SW04 in the Swoop category. This is the text under the picture:
This ornament is a white unbreakable ball with sparkles on it. It is decorated with pink and light green seed beads and pink polyclay roses.

I am only having trouble putting the numbers on the beads in the tutorial, got the rest figured out. Oh by the way, a lot of what I work with is 1-needle RAW, that a problem?

I just figured i didn't need to post since we've already spoken about it!
And 1 needle RAW is fine for me, i'm more used to 2 needle but i can do 1 needle almost as well
The only things i really struggle with are peyote and brick stitch!
Peyote i can do but it never looks very good!
...I cant get my head around brick stitch at all

Haha, I bet lots of people would like it, but they are too shy to say anything. Did you know only about 0.5% of our visitors ever even post a comment after visiting a page? It takes an outgoing person to start making themselves known to everyone.
Anyways, are you still having trouble with inkscape? Did you find the typing tool (the icon is a letter A)?

Maybe instead of trying the tutorial on your own pattern, you can start out trying it on the example pattern shown in the tutorial, that way you are doing exactly what is being instructed. Might that help? It's hard to give advice without knowing the exact problem. I wish I could watch you doing it!

I am following the pattern. I just cant get the arrow head styles to show up under the Stroke Style tab in the Fill and Stroke

Oh actually that is a common glitch of the program. It doesn't often happen, but if it does, save your work in progress, exit and restart the program, and reopen your saved file. Let me know if it works after you do that. And remember to have your lines selected too.

I know you make each of your ornaments so that they are unique.I found this little book at rapidsharelibrary and it has only these 4 patterns in it and I thought they were really beautiful also and thought you might be interested and maybe somebody else might also be interested in them. I am bored to tears at the moment as there is nothing to do in Zimbabwe.

I was downloading again today and found these for you. You can download them at RAPIDSHARELIBRARY if you are interested,I love the one with the birds on it and the other one is also fantastic. This is the limit to my my beaded ornament patterns now.If I do find anything else spectacular I will let you know.

I don't know if I wrote to you about this or not. If so, PLEASE forgive me! We had a massive snow storm here, and between digging out & trying to write (humor columnist), my mind is scattered. The bead pattern books you mentioned, I would be interested in. I tried to find things at the rapid share library, but it just kept directing me to Amazon. I'm hesitant to buy a book because I've purchased several ornament cover patterns and they've been VERY hard to follow. Hence my hesitation not to spend $20 for something I won't understand.
