Thanks, Celeste. I love your cube pattern. Have you ever tried to make a box from the cube pattern? I played around trying to make a lid from the top side of the cube but so far no luck. Any other new patterns? I love all the 3d figurines. Thanks.

Yuhp, I did try actually..I used 8mm beads for the top and 6mm beads for the bottom. It worked ok, but the top didnt stay on and it buldged weird, I didnt find the perfect size for it. I usually only ever have 6mm or 8mm beads, so theres not much experimenting i can do there lol. go ahead and try it! If you find out the perfect bead combo let us know ^^

I think what Nancy is saying is she doesn't know how to make a lid. I think it would be possible to make a lid using the top surface of the box, plus half way down all the sides, so only doing the top two circles of beads on each side instead of all four. And yeah, using bigger beads in the lid. Then for the box, use smaller beads and don't do the top surface, leave it open. But bead all the way up the sides (4 bead circles per side). Does that make sense? I never thought about it, you guys are creative!

For the heart pendant, were the heart patterns on this site too difficult for you? There are two heart patterns in the hearts pattern page. They look daunting, but they only take about half an hour to an hour to make.

Hi Allegra,
I just looked at your heart patterns. Will you be making a diagram pattern for the heart. ? I find the diagrammed patterns easier to follow. I am also looking for a one dimensional , flat heart pattern. Thanks and I love your forum!!!

That's such a cute shamrock pattern! So is a shamrock another name for a clover? I've seen a shamrock pattern before in an ebay preview of a beading book. I wonder if I can find it in my files.

I knew I had one... I didn't know I had several! Ooof, that took quite a bit of hunting down, but here's what I found:

My favourite one:

And here's the instructions:

And here's another:

Here's another one, but there were no instructions for it:

The same pattern can be made bigger to make a Christmas wreath:

And here's a peacock. Not a shamrock, but I thought it was too cute!

Hi Allegra,
Thanks for the shamrock pattern. Is there any way you can enlarge the pattern to make it easier to read? Have you every made this pendant? I would love to try to make it but I can't see where to start. Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jax,
Thanks for the pattern. If you figure it out let me know. I looked at the diagram and I got alittle lost as to the sequence of steps. After the first seven, do you go up and then back through the center to make to two side leaves? I am going to try it out. Thanks.

Hi Nancy, I made the hearts with pictures, but I am making diagram patterns from now on. Those are older patterns. Have you given them a try? Why don't you try the rounded heart pattern out and let me know how it goes. I've heard comments from beginning beaders that they were able to do it. I am planning to add a flatter heart pattern with diagrams. Here's a picture of it:

Soon! Try the other hearts in the meantime, I'm quite sure you'll get it ;-)

It's too bad about the shamrock pattern being on an angle like that. The diagrams are actually labelled A, B, C, D (mind you, you can't see the A, but it's the top left one). To start off, make a circle of 5 beads, 4 being seed beads, and 1 being a crystal (cross the crystal). Then, continue with another circle of 5 beads, with the first crystal, 1 seed bead on top, 2 seed beads at the bottom, and one more crystal, cross that crystal. Then do that circle again (with 5 beads, 2 crystals and 3 seed beads). Then do the first circle again, with 1 crystal and 4 seed beads. Then in diagram B, you are supposed to string extra beads between the beads added in diagram A. The darker beads in the diagram are the ones to string. The lighter ones are already in the pattern. Then for the base/center of the pendant, you make a circle of 4 crystals, and then you stem off each crystal another identical leaf of the clover. I hope I haven't just further confused you! It's hard to explain beading in words. Let me know if you want me to remake the diagrams. I can always make it a pattern :-P But try it first before saying yes!

Hi Allegra,

I tried it but I get lost with worded patterns and I do better with diagrams with arrows showing where each bead should be. If you have time and feel inclined, I would appreciate a diagram of this shamrock pattern. Are you now a certified pharmacist? Congrats!!! You are doing a great job with this forum and I have gathered alot of great info.

Thanks.

OK so the way it looks to me is you start with a circle of seven and on this you are using one thread not two. Then I would start with the left leaf so with your needle coming out the right side of one of the original 7, pick up five beads and circle back left to right thru the original bead. Guide your thread thru the next two of the original 7 and repeat making your next two leaves. When you get to the last leaf, go thru the next one of the original, add four beads and loop back thru the 3rd, 2nd, then 1st that you added and then thru the one orginal 7 to the left of the stem. Guide your thread thru the closest bead in the first petal you made. Then you just follow along to create the last layer. Did that help?

Hi Nancy. I found a shamrock pattern for a bracelet - http://www.wigjig.com/jewelry-tools/WJU/jewelry/jewelrybyG/clover/index.html - that's made with wire. To make it into a pendant, perhaps you can enlarge the clover, and then string seed beads or larger beads in green or gold onto it. I hope this helps!
