probably a dumb question? about 3D beading HELP!

by Sheila Toppi @, Sunday, June 10, 2012, 13:02

I am trying to follow the 3D seahorse charm pattern by Christine (so cute!) and this is my FIRST time trying to follow a pattern like this. The pictures show everything "flat". I know obviously eventually everything will be curled up and whatnot to make the final shapes, but are we supposed to keep it flat as we work so we can keep it exactly as the pictures and keep track of where we are? or are we supposed to be pulling tight after each step and letting things sorta curl up naturally however they do? I feel so stupid, but this is so much work and I'm on step 13 and it just isn't seeming right. I want to make sure I am doing this correctly before I keep going. Thanks for any help/advice for this newbie!:-P :-D

The patterns are shown flat so that they are easier to follow, but they will take their shape as you follow the pattern. You'll notice that some of they lines(the beading string) from bead to bead are very long, but in reality, they will be pulled together and the shape starts to take form. Good-luck, you seem to be doing great.
