It depends on the type of wire beading you want to do. There is a tutorial for a Victorian beaded flower on the flowers page. It goes through the steps for Victorian beading pretty thoroughly. I will probably do a tutorial for French beading at some stage as well.

Hi Kaila.

I seem to be having a problem clicking on the links, some how they do not seem to be working for me. I have written it down and will go and check it out.

You get many different types of wire. Silver,Copper, Coloured, etc. The gauge of wire you use, goes according to the size beads you are using and what you are making and technique you are using. There are a lot of different gauges or thicknesses of wire.

When you make Victorian Flowers you will use a different gauge of wire,as for French Beaded Flowers. It you make Animals you will also use different gauges of wire. Normally a pattern will tell you what size Beads and gauge of wire to use. When you have been working with wire and beads for a while, you will soon know what to use for what, if you do not have a pattern.

Hope this helps, will go and check out the link you gave here.

wire beading

Hi Kaila.

I went to check the pattern out. When making these type of 3D Patterns you need to use a strong wire. I do not know what strengths or brands you buy, where you live, as we do not get the same ones here. Our brands mainly come from China and you have to guess what the gauge is, as everything is in Chinese.

The gauge of the wire you use must be able to go through the bead 3 times, when making these type of patterns.

Hope this is what you wanted to know.

Any other questions, you are more than welcome to ask.

Vanessa.
